A Letter From Jeff
The idea of underground and partially ground-integrated dwellings is nothing new. It's been around for thousands of years, from the Hopi Indians of Arizona to the Aboriginal people of Australia who found safety by building their homes into the earth. There were many benefits of this practice beyond just safety.
Our goal with designing this version of a very old concept was to integrate the benefits of the original concept with modern-day comforts and conveniences. We invite you to preview this information and see if you agree.
Thank you for your time,
Jeff Cazaly

Features
01
Superior Energy Efficiency
Over 50% of our homes' vertical surface wall is protected by the Earth, utilizing the Earth's natural insulation to maintain a stable indoor temperature year-round.
02
Cooler Summers, Warmer Winters
Due to the Earth's thermal mass properties, our homes remain cooler in summer while efficiently retaining heat in winter, helping to minimize electrical usage costs.
03
Fire-Resilient by Design
Designed to resist wildfires, earth-sheltered homes offer a unique advantage when it comes to risk mitigation — something insurance providers increasingly pay attention to.
04
California Code - Compliant
Fully aligned with IBC, CBC, UBC and Title 24 building requirements, including electrical, mechanical, and plumbing codes.
05
Smart, Cost Effective Investment
As energy costs rise and climate challenges grow, homes designed for efficiency and resilience increase in long-term value.
06
Reliable Power in Any Condition
Designed to support solar and battery backup systems, providing electricity during wildfire outages, power grid failures, and high-wind outages.
Why Build an Earth-Sheltered Home?
By building homes into the natural shape of a hillside, our designs offer better protection from wildfires, use less energy, and fit beautifully into the surrounding landscape.
Our approach comes from years of experience in industrial construction, where fire-safe materials and the construction methods are used every day to make long-lasting structures.
Now we’re bringing those same ideas to residental design — creating homes where safety, efficiency, and comfort all work together.
See how Cazaly~Bryant homes can help you build a home that endures — fire-safe, energy-smart, and perfectly at home in nature.
